Teratogenic drugs...its  side effects on your child
Posted on 29th October 2017

Teratogenic drugs: A teratogen is an agent that can disturb the development of the embryo or fetus. Teratogens halt the pregnancy or produce a congenital malformation (a birth defect). Classes of teratogens include radiation, maternal infections, chemicals, and drugs.
Drugs that are capable of acting as teratogens include:
Benazepril is an ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme) inhibitor used for treating high blood pressure

Captopril is an oral drug and a member of a class of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme.   It is used to control hypertension or high blood pressure
Fosinopril is the drug used to control high blood pressure, prevent heart attacks and kidney failure
Enalapril is a drug that is used for treating high blood pressure
There are many other drugs used to control high blood pressure such as Lisinopril, Quinapril, Ramipril  can cause limb problems to the unborn child if you use during your pregnancy..
Acne medication, Alcohol ingested chronically or in binges.,Androgens (male hormones)., Antibiotics such as tetracycline (Achromycin), and doxycycline (Vibramycin), and streptomycin., Anticoagulant (blood-thinner), Anticonvulsants (seizur medications),
Anti-depressant drug lithium (Eskalith, Lithob). Antithyroid drugs such as thiouracil ,

All the medicines for your health problems ..hypertension, heart problems, kidney problems, thyriod problems ..............mentioned above may cause limb problems to the unborn child if any woman during pregnancy or any couple using before pregnancy
My advise
1...   Most women take some kind of drug, substance or medication during pregnancy, sometimes without realising the potential for harm. Drugs or medication taken by the mother may cross the placenta and reach the developing fetus. The possible effects may include developmental delay, intellectual disability, birth defects miscarriage and stillbirth.
2...   Generally a drug, substance or medication can cause harm by:   a..interfering with normal fetal development   b...damaging the baby’s organs    c...damaging the placenta and putting the baby’s life at risk   d.... increasing the risk of miscarriage    e....bringing on premature labour.
3.....The potential for harm to the pregnancy and unborn baby depends on a range of factors including:....  a...the type of drug or medication taken     b...how the drug or medication is taken    c...the size of the dose       d...how often it is taken     e...whether the drug or medication is used alone or in combination with other drugs or medications   f..the individual response of the baby to the drug or medication     f...the gestational age of the baby       g...other factors, such as maternal health and diet.
4.....   Everyone can protect their health with their healthy food and healthy life style.
5....   The above medicines may cause limb problems to the unborn child if  any woman during pregnancy is using.
6...   I advise every woman to control your health problems with healthy food and healthy life style then plan for the healthy child.
7.    I wish you to enjoy your life with your healthy child
