Causes of Congenital heart disease
Posted in 2014
"Congenital heart defect" is another way of saying your heart had a problem when you were born. You may have had a small hole in it or something more severe. Although these can be very serious conditions, many can be treated with surgery.
Congenital heart disease occurs as a result of an early developmental problem in the heart’s structure. The defect typically interferes with the normal flow of blood through the heart, which may affect breathing. Although researchers aren’t exactly sure why the heart fails to develop correctly, suspected causes include the following:
The heart defect may run in families.
Taking certain prescription drugs during pregnancy puts a child at a higher risk for a heart defect.
Using alcohol or illegal drugs during pregnancy can increase a child’s risk of having a heart defect.
Mothers who had a viral infection during the first trimester of pregnancy are more likely to give birth to a child with a heart defect.
Increased blood sugar levels, such as occurs with diabetes, may affect childhood development.
When couple wants to give birth to a healthy child they should follow healthy habits, healthy life style and healthy food before and till delivery

Causes
.Doctors don’t always know why a baby has a congenital heart defect. They tend to run in families.
a...  Problems with genes or chromosomes in the child, such as Down syndrome
b....  Taking certain medications, or alcohol or drug abuse during pregnancy
c....  A viral infection, like rubella (German measles) in the mother in the first trimester of pregnancy
My advise
1....   Most congenital heart problems are structural issues like holes and leaky valves. For instance:
a.... Heart valve defects: One may be too narrow or completely closed. That makes it hard for blood to get through. Sometimes, it can’t get through at all. In other cases, the valve might not close properly, so the blood leaks backward.
b.... Problems with the heart’s "walls": It could be the ones between the chambers (atria and ventricles) of your heart. Holes or passageways between the left and right side of the heart might cause blood to mix when it shouldn’t
c....  Issues with the heart’s muscle: These can lead to heart failure, which means the heart doesn’t pump as efficiently as it should.
d....  Bad connections among blood vessels: In babies, this may let blood that should go to the lungs go to other parts of the body instead, or vice versa. These defects can deprive blood of oxygen and lead to organ failure.
3....  Symptoms:: It’s possible for you to have a heart-related birth defect and not have symptoms. If you do, they can include: Shortness of breath   and Problems with exercise
The symptoms of congenital heart disease in infants and children may include:  a..A bluish tint to the skin, fingernails, and lips (doctors call this cyanosis, a condition caused by a lack of oxygenated blood) b...Fast breathing and poor feeding   c...  Poor weight gain  d.. Lungs infections  and e...An inability to exercise
4..   Every one on this earth takes 6 liters of Oxygen per minute
5...      A conceived woman should consume minimum oxygen for her body needs so that her child body receives more oxygen to open all heart cells, brain cells etc...
6...     Consumption of oxygen of mother is depend upon food...So mother during her pregnancy should avoid heavy, oily, non Vegetarian etc.. food
7...    If the child receives sufficient oxygen all his heart cells will be opened before birth.
8....   Mother should practice long breathing before conceiving and continue till delivery..She must follow healthy food before conceiving n continue till delivery if any of her family members suffering from breathing problem
