My opinion is  PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE --Every couple can prevent Defective births with their Healthy food, Healthy life style etc...Please observe all animals which possess same parts as we have. No animal is taking medicines, consulting any specialist for their Infertility Problem but they are giving birth to HEALTHY CHILD. We have been included in Biology considering us as Animal because we have same parts and functioning are also similar. Animals are following Healthy food, Healthy life style etc...giving birth to their child. I sincerely advise every one to follow Healthy food, Healthy life style etc..to keep yourself Healthy and give birth to Health child...What ever your body needs are available in your food...No side effects ...No reaction... .visit my blogs to know the contents of your food and what minerals, nutrients etc...required for your child birth
World Birth Defects Day: March 3, 2015
Every year nearly 8 million babies around the world—6 percent of all births—are born with a serious birth defect.1 In many countries, birth defects are one of the leading causes of death in infants and young children.2 Babies who survive and live with these conditions are at an increased risk for long-term disabilities. In the spirit of global partnership, CDC and the International Clearinghouse for Birth Defects Surveillance and Research (ICBDSR) are collaborating with 10 other organizations to implement World Birth Defects Day (World BD Day

My advise
1.....  A birth defect is a significant abnormality of appearance, structure, or function that is present at birth. Two percent to three percent of live-born infants show one or more significant defects at birth. A birth defect can be visibly obvious, an internal defect, or a chemical imbalance within the body.
2...  A birth defect is a significant abnormality of appearance, structure, or function that is present at birth. Birth defects are common. Two percent to 3% of live-born infants show one or more significant defects at birth. This number increases to approximately 5% by 1 year of age due to the discovery of defects that were not obvious at birth.
3..... A birth defect can be visibly obvious, an internal defect, or a chemical imbalance within the body
a....  An example of a visibly obvious defect could be the absence of an arm or a hemangioma (blood vessel birthmark) on the surface of the skin.
b....  An internal defect could be a malformed kidney or a ventricular septal defect (a hole between the lower chambers of the heart).
c..... An example of a chemical imbalance would be phenylketonuria (a defect in a chemical reaction of the body that results in severe mental retardation).
d...   An individual can have a single birth defect such as cleft lip (a gap in the upper lip) or multiple birth defects such as cleft lip and cleft palate (a hole in the roof of the mouth) together, or even cleft lip and cleft palate with associated birth defects of the brain, heart, and kidneys.
e....  Not all birth defects are detectable at birth. Some, such as sickle cell anemia (a defect in red blood cells that causes severe anemia and bone pain) might not become apparent until the child is several months old. A malformed kidney might take years to be discovered.
f.......Some birth defects might remain silent for many years. For example, Huntington disease is an inherited condition in which affected persons live normal lives for decades. Then, during middle age, they develop dementia and loss of control of their arms and legs.
4...   To avoid any kind of birth defects is your healthy habits and positive thinking.  So follow healthy habits and practice positive thinking
