The control of reproduction in females is more complex. As with the male, the anterior pituitary hormones cause the release of the hormones FSH and LH. In addition, estrogens and progesterone are released from the developing follicles. Estrogen is the reproductive hormone in females that assists in endometrial regrowth, ovulation, and calcium absorption; it is also responsible for the secondary sexual characteristics of females. These include breast development, flaring of the hips, and a shorter period necessary for bone maturation. Progesterone assists in endometrial re-growth and inhibition of FSH and LH release.
In females, FSH stimulates development of egg cells, called ova, which develop in structures called follicles. Follicle cells produce the hormone inhibin, which inhibits FSH production. LH also plays a role in the development of ova, induction of ovulation, and stimulation of estradiol and progesterone production by the ovaries. Estradiol and progesterone are steroid hormones that prepare the body for pregnancy. Estradiol produces secondary sex characteristics in females, while both estradiol and progesterone regulate the menstrual cycle.
The Ovarian Cycle and the Menstrual Cycle
The ovarian cycle governs the preparation of endocrine tissues and release of eggs, while the menstrual cycle governs the preparation and maintenance of the uterine lining. These cycles occur concurrently and are coordinated over a 22–32 day cycle, with an average length of 28 days.
The first half of the ovarian cycle is the follicular phase shown in Figure
. Slowly rising levels of FSH and LH cause the growth of follicles on the surface of the ovary. This process prepares the egg for ovulation. As the follicles grow, they begin releasing estrogens and a low level of progesterone. Progesterone maintains the endometrium to help ensure pregnancy. The trip through the fallopian tube takes about seven days. At this stage of development, called the morula, there are 30-60 cells. If pregnancy implantation does not occur, the lining is sloughed off. After about five days, estrogen levels rise and the menstrual cycle enters the proliferative phase. The endometrium begins to regrow, replacing the blood vessels and glands that deteriorated during the end of the last cycle.
My advise
1....     As you will probably remember from your previous high school biology course, the various functions of the body are regulated by the nervous system and the hormonal system. Both these systems are involved in controlling the activity of the female reproductive system in a regular monthly series of events known as the menstrual cycle, as we will now describe.
2...    You should remember from Study Session 3 that a hormone is a signalling chemical produced in the body, which circulates in the blood; different hormones control or regulate the activity of different cells or organs. The functions of the five main hormones that regulate the female reproductive system are described in Box 4.1, and their interactions are illustrated
3..     Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) is produced by a part of the brain called the hypothalamus. When it circulates in the blood, it causes the release of two important hormones  from the pituitary gland in another specialised part of the brain.
During my research I contacted  many families and asked about their children and their mentality.  I also asked their mental condition before conceive.   They told me their mental condition was disturbed before birth of some children and they told me their child is rigid r cruel  mentality.  When they conceive with disturbed mind their hormone release similarly due to it their child's mentality will developed.
I am telling U from the beginning everything in your life is depend on your brain function including release of  healthy egg.  If your brain is positive than your child will be positive i.e well mannered....If your brain is negative than your child will be negative i.e he may be cruel or may criminal nature.
From the beginning I am telling to  develop positive thoughts or thinking before conceiving so that your hormones will be positive and you can have well mannered child.
4...    Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is produced by the pituitary gland during the first half of the menstrual cycle. It stimulates development of the maturing ovarian follicle and controls ovum production in the female, and sperm production in the male.
5...    Leutenizing hormone (LH) is also produced by the pituitary gland in the brain. It stimulates the ovaries to produce oestrogen and progesterone. It triggers ovulation (the release of a mature ovum from the ovary), and it promotes the development of the corpus luteum.
6...    Progesterone is produced by the corpus luteum in the ovary; its function is to prepare the endometrium (lining of the uterus) for the reception and development of the fertilised ovum. It also suppresses the production of oestrogen after ovulation has occurred.
7.....  The ovarian cycle refers to the monthly series of events in the ovaries, associated with the maturation and release of an ovum, and the ‘just in case’ preparation for its fertilisation and implantation in the uterus. You may be wondering why the regulation of the female reproductive system is so complicated, as shown in Figure 4.1. The reason is that the ovarian cycle has to be initiated (switched on) and then suppressed (switched off) in a precisely regulated sequence every month. In this section, we will explain how this is achieved.
