Depression during pregnancy .... 1
Posted on 16th September 2014
Depression is an illness that affects the way people think, act and feel. About 6% of women will experience depression at some point in their lives. This number increases to about 10% (1 in 10) for women who are pregnant.
Women are more at risk of depression while they are pregnant, and during the weeks and months after having a baby. During pregnancy, hormone changes can affect brain chemicals and cause depression and anxiety. Sometimes, pregnant women don’t realize they are depressed. They may think they have symptoms of pregnancy or the “baby blues,” which many women experience right after birth.
It’s also important to know that as many as 10% of fathers experience postpartum depression after the birth of a child.
The good news is that depression can be treated. Read the signs listed below, and talk to your doctor if you have any of them. Let your partner and family members know the signs so that they can also be aware.
If you don’t get help, depression can cause problems for you and your baby.
My advise
1... I advise every couple to be happy even before conceiving because when you are happy your body will release healthy hormones, eggs and sperm.
2... When you decided to give birth to a healthy child your bodies will cooperate it.
3... If you are depressed it will give bad effect on your health and your unborn child
4... Depression during and after pregnancy is typically divided into the following categories: (1) the baby blues (2) perinatal depression (encompassing prenatal and postpartum depression) and (3) postpartum psychosis.
5... The Baby Blues.....Many women have the baby blues in the days after childbirth. In fact, it is estimated that 50% to 80% of all mothers experience "postpartum blues" after birth. For most women, the baby blues is temporary—it's usually gone within a few days and lasting up to 2 weeks after childbirth.
6.... If any one have baby blues......
Have mood swings
Feel sad, anxious, or overwhelmed
Have crying spells
Lose your appetite
Have trouble sleeping
7,,,, Perinatal depression is a term that includes both prenatal depression (during pregnancy) and postpartum depression (in the first year following childbirth). The symptoms of perinatal depression last longer than "the baby blues" and are more severe. It occurs in about 1 in 5 women.
Pregnant and new mothers who find themselves overwhelmed, frustrated, anxious, persistently teary, or depressed should not be silent or ashamed.
8... If any one is have perinatal depression.....
Sleeping too much or not at all
Lack of joy in life
Emotional numbness
Trouble concentrating, remembering things, and making decisions
Loss of interest in caring for yourself
Not feeling up to doing everyday tasks
Withdrawal from family and friends
Loss of sexual interest or responsiveness
A strong sense of failure or inadequacy
Severe mood swings
Showing too much ﴾or not enough﴿ concern for the baby
High expectations and overly demanding attitude
Difficulty making sense of things
This impact on your child's brain which will cause your child to be isolate, poor in education, poor in any activity................... Avoid these negative characters on you child with your happiness.
