Process of Fertilization
Posted in 2013
The male gametes i.e the sperms are deposited in the female body by the process called as sexual intercourse. Once the sperms are deposited in the vagina, they need to travel upwards to reach the egg that is released from the ovaries and picked up by the fallopian tubes. When the sperm meets the egg, it needs to penetrate through its layers to cause fertilization. Both the Egg and the Sperm fertilize and form the diploid zygote.
Each parent provides 23 chromosomes at the initial fertilization. Thus, the zygote contains double the number of chromosomes (46). It is called diploid. Once this happens, zona pellucida from the egg forms a thick layer around the zygote to prevent more than one sperm to fertilize the egg. this zygote now forms into a morula and then into a blastocyst. It then develops chorionic villi from the outer layer of the blastocyst known as the chorion.
These villi attach themselves to the inner wall of the uterus. Implantation is the process of attachment of the embryo to the uterine wall. The tissues between the growing embryo and the mother’s uterine walls form the placenta. Placenta functions to provide nutrition to the embryo until its birth. The hormones estrogen and progesterone both help in maintaining the placenta and the fetus inside the uterus. The normal gestation period for humans is 38 weeks which is a little over 9 months.
At the end of this term, the uterine contractions begin under influence of hormones. A major hormone that plays a role in this is oxytocin. It affects the cervix and causes it to dilate to allow the baby to pass outside the body of the mother. The umbilical cord with its blood vessels and the placenta are also expelled along with the baby.
The mother’s hormones come back to normalcy from the next menstrual cycle.
My advise
1... After marriage every couple dreams to have Healthy child. For this they participate in Sex.
2... Till to this date they don't know about their body nutrients
3...  Fertilization is the fusion of haploid gametes, egg and sperm, to form the diploid zygote. Note though there can be subtle differences in the fertilization process which occurs naturally within the body or through reproductive technologies outside the body, the overall product in both cases is a diplod zygote. In fertilization research, after humans the mouse is the most studied species followed by domestic and farm animals. The process of fertilization involves components of, and signaling between, both sperm and egg .
4...  Human fertilization begins with a woman's menstrual cycle. This cycle prepares a woman's body for fertilization. About half way through this cycle, the woman's body is ready to begin the process of human fertilization. It is at this point that an egg cell is released, or ovulated, into the Fallopian tube. Inside this Fallopian tube, fertilization will take place.
5..    During intercourse, a man can ejaculate, or release semen into a women's vagina. There are up to 150 million sperm in the semen in a single ejaculation. The sperm travel to the Fallopian tube to meet the egg; however, the sperm have some big challenges ahead to complete this journey. For instance, the sperm have to complete this journey within 12-48 hours of the egg being ovulated, or else they will die.
6...   About 85% of the sperm are not properly structured for travel. This leaves only about 15% of the sperm to complete the journey to the egg. The remaining sperm will follow chemical signals given by the vagina and cervix, the opening of the uterus. The chemical signals will guide the sperm through the cervical mucus and up the lining of the uterus. The uterus is also known as the womb and is where the baby will develop after fertilization.
7....  Only about 1,000 sperm are left. After the sperm make it through the uterus, they face the challenge of picking the correct Fallopian tube. There are two Fallopian tubes, and only one contains the egg. The sperm that choose the correct Fallopian tube will finally reach the egg.
8....  This process, from ejaculation to the remaining sperm reaching the egg, takes about 20 minutes. At this point, there are only a few dozen sperm left that actually make it to the egg. The remaining sperm begin to surround the egg, and they race to be the first and only sperm to actually fertilize the egg.
9....   All required nutrients are available in your healthy food. Eat well before marriage and you can have healthy child in you first attempt of Sex.
10... Your bodies must be with all filled all needed nutrients , water n oxygen at the time of sex to avoid defective births
11.. Eat healthy food before your marriage and be fit to conceive
