My memories
Recurring infections
Posted in 2014

It is a myth that antibiotics are responsible for any decline in infectious disease. While antibiotics are helpful for many infections, they have not resulted in  the elimination of infectious diseases by themselves.
In the book Beyond Antibiotics, authors use graphs to trace the incidence of the major infectious diseases from 1900 to 1973. All diseases researched were in decline for several decades before the introduction of antibiotics or vaccines. After reviewing the data, researchers John McKinlay and Sonja McKinlay concluded that “.. at most, 3.5% of the total decline in mortality since 1900 could be ascribed to medical measures introduced for the diseases considered here.” Improved nutrition and improved sanitation and hygiene were far more important than the ‘wonder drugs’ or vaccines to reduce these diseases.
Some research has revealed that those treated with antibiotics succumb to recurring infections more frequently than those who do not use antibiotics. For example, children with ear infections who are prescribed antibiotics routinely suffer from repeat infections. Of course there is always the possibility that children taking these antibiotics frequently for infections would suffer from the infections anyway, and that the antibiotics aren’t causing them to happen.
However, since antibiotics are in fact creating unstoppable bacteria, they are now somewhat responsible.

My advise
1...  Most of us believe that using of antibiotics will cure infections by seeing its action but  it will not cure and after some days same problem will be repeated.
2...  A common reason for bringing an infant or child for a medical visit is recurrent infections. This may refer to infections that are too great in number, too severe, or too long lasting that are associated with unusual complications or that fail to resolve with standard therapy. The causes are multiple and can be grouped into four categories: the "normal" child, the child with atopic disease, the child with another chronic condition, and the child with an immunodeficiency.
3...  Recurrent infections are infections that are too great in number, too severe, or too long lasting. Recurrent infections are defined as two or more severe infections in one year, three or more respiratory infections (eg, sinusitis, otitis, bronchitis) in one year, or the need for antibiotics for two months/year. Severe/serious infections include those with persistent fever or confinement to bed for a week or more, failure to respond to oral antibiotics and/or the need for intravenous antibiotics or hospitalization, infections with an unusual pathogen, unusual complications (eg mastoiditis, pleural effusion, abscesses), or persistent laboratory abnormalities (eg, leukocytosis, elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate [ESR]/C-reactive protein [CRP], persistent imaging abnormalities).
4.... According to our latest survey, 20% leukaemia patients will experience frequent or repeated infections as a symptom prior to their diagnosis. In leukaemia, recurrent infections can occur because your body isn’t producing enough white blood cells to keep your immune system working properly. This means that the you are unable to rapidly destroy any harmful viruses, bacteria or fungi that have made their way into the body.
5... Most children who have repeated infections don’t have any serious problems and grow up to be healthy adults. Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep and eats a healthy diet. Sleep and proper nutrition may be just as important as medicine in helping your child fight off infections.
6...  Exposure to cigarette smoke (sometimes called “passive smoking”) is another cause for runny noses and wheezing in young children. Passive smoking is linked to asthma in children. It is also a risk factor for respiratory infection in children. This makes it important to keep all children away from cigarette or cigar smoke.
7....  If you wants to give birth to a healthy child you should follow healthy food instead of Antibiotics.   If you follow healthy food before your pregnancy your child's resistance  will be more to fight any kind of Infections.  Your healthy food Protect your and your child's  health .
